Welcome to the B2SMB Institute’s SMB OPS 1000 Directory:
As the Business-to-Small-Business marketspace has gained greater definition over the last few years, many in the B2SMB community have sought a census of who sells what, the “players” in the space.
The B2SMB Institute’s inaugural SMB OPS 1000 Directory is a first step in identifying those brands that sell financial products and services in 10 offering categories.
Along with the SMB G2M (“Go to Market”) 1000 Directory of marketing and sales products and services, and the SMB FIN 1000 Directory of financial and accounting management products and services, the Institute intends to provide a “rolling inventory” of brands that do big business with Small Business.
The OPS 1000 first release is comprised of the following 10 categories:
- Appointment Scheduling
- Data Management
- Delivery Management
- Event Management
- Human Resources
- Project Management
- Quality Management
- Time Clock Management
- Workflow Management
To compile our listings:
- We scanned multiple SMB “resource” and review sites, including Capterra, G2 Crowd, TrustPilot and more, to build a baseline inventory of offerings in each of our categories, and to then measure the quantity of SMB-sourced reviews for each product or service listed.
- We then applied Google metrics to specific categories and sub-categories to again measure volume of online search activity for each product or service listed.
- We combined our measurements to create an “order” to our overall listing, our inference that the volume of measurable SMB interactions (reviews, searches) is an excellent proxy for B2SMB product or service presence, if not marketplace success.
